The newly established Centre of Excellence in Design for All at the Faculty of Architecture in the Slovak University of Technology, Bratislava, has applied for Corporate Membership of EIDD.

Following up first contacts made between Maria Samova, Zuzana Ceresnova and Lea Rollova from Bratislava and EIDD President Pete Kercher during an international conference in Budapest in June 2006, a close relationship has developed between the two bodies. EIDD’s Austrian National Director, Markus Haas, was entrusted with a first local visit in October 2006, paving the way for the EIDD President and Honorary Secretary, Peter Kercher and Avril Accolla, to visit to Bratislava in early November. A further visit from Kercher on 25 April completed the process.

The Slovak Centre of Excellence in Design for All will be represented at the EIDD AGM in Milan on 30 June by Prof. Maria Samova and Lea Rollova. Maria will also be a speaker at the EIDD Annual Conference in Milan Triennale on 29 June.
