Sculptural Lift
The Louvre Museum holds some 200,000 objects of art, including the world-famous Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Designed by the Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei and built in 1988, the main entrance to the museum takes the form of a glass pyramid. The lift that takes visitors into the Halle Napoléon resembles a sculptural rocket. Entering it, the visitor becomes part of the installation. Lifts go to all levels.
